122 Post Star Twins Discovered

LONDON - MICOM: Two NASA satellites discovered 122 sets of twin stars that were previously unknown.

A team from the UK using NASA's Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory (Stereo), find the twin stars, which form like stars when viewed from Earth.

NASA's Stereo plane is indeed devoted to studying the sun. But in this research, it is present in a number of stars 122 pairs of twins.

Stereo Since its launch in 2006, has nearly 900 thousand twin star. Both satellites usetool Heliospheric Imagers, to photograph the twin stars.

''We use stars to calibrate instruments twins,''said researcher Danielle Bewsher, from the University of Central Lancashire, England told Space.com.

The team from the UK is also planning to look for new planets around the galaxy. Stereospacecraft is equipped with two observatories.

These findings will be a major discussion of the Royal Astronomical Society meeting inWales next April. This latest research will be released in the monthly journal of the Royal Astronomical Society. (Nda/OL-10)
