Amazing phenomena in the Ocean

The ocean is full of mystery. Humans most often admired from the shore. There are several locations in the world of the dreaded sea. Where planes and ships disappear without a trace. Or have a giant whirlpool, powerful waves, or a circle of mysterious light in the water. There is a place where all the phenomena happening at once: the Bermuda Triangle.
Following a mysterious phenomenon in the ocean like a loaded Russian news sites, Pravda:
1. Bermuda TriangleCovering an area of millions of square kilometers. Called the triangle because of its location in between three regions - the Bermuda Islands, Puerto Rico, and Fort Lauderdale.
Bermuda Triangle mystery disappearance triggered events squadron of five Navy torpedo bombers on December 5, 1945. The bodies of 14 crew of Flight 19 until now not been found. There are at least 50 ships and aircraft reported missing in the region. However, loss of reputation mythical Bermuda Triangle, also appeal the mid-1980s.Several theories attempt to explain the strange phenomena in the Bermuda Triangle - from pseudoscience, psychics, until the UFO. However, the most convincing forward by Joseph Monaghan of Monash University. In 2003, scientists authored an article in the American Journal of Physics. The title, 'Methane Bubbles Could Drowning Ship? "
According to Monaghan, large bubbles can be formed from a solid methane deposits - known as gas hydrates. To note methane gas can condense in the BAWAG great pressure on the sea. Similar deposits of methane ice could be broken, changed the gas, and creating bubbles in the water. The concentration of gas that escape can cause damage to electronic devices on aircraft is also the ship. Not only that, the ship could sink in that location because of the reduced density (density) of water suddenly.
Another phenomenon in the Bermuda Triangle is called the Flying Dutchman - the crew mysteriously disappearing. Scientific theories offered to explain the loss of the sailors. Ie infrasound. Some scientists believe that infrasound generated when methane gas bubbles rising to the surface.
Infrasound vibrations trigger a dangerous resonance in the heart and blood vessels. At that time, humans are exposed to panic-stricken. This is probably what makes sailors panicked and jumped overboard - to escape from the strange feeling that befall him.
However, no single theory that explains, why in the mid-1980s, the Bermuda Triangle stop devouring ships and aircraft. Perhaps because of advances in technology of aircraft and ships.

2. Sargasso Sea
Many people equate the Sargasso Sea in the Bermuda Triangle. In fact these waters are in the southeast of the Bermuda Triangle in the Atlantic Ocean. There is some uniqueness in the region. Ocean moves clockwise, artifacts Sargassum algae in it.
It has a giant ocean eddies which have their own rules. Temperatures outside the vortex is much higher than its exterior. A number of people who sail there said he saw a mirage: for example, the Sun rises in the East and West at the same time.
Richard Sylvester of the University of Western Australia argued, is a centrifugal vortex Sargasso giant - which then creates a small vortex that reaches the bermuda triangle. This small vortex in the air causing a mini cyclones - powerful enough to harm a small plane.
3. Sea Devil (Devil's Sea)
This is a region in the Pacific, around the island of Miyake - 100 kilometers south of Tokyo. 'Brother' Bermuda Triangle can not be found on any map, but the sailors choose to avoid it. Storms can appear suddenly and disappear just as suddenly. Whales, dolphins, even birds do not live in the area. Nine ships disappear within five years in the 1950s. The most famous is the disappearance of the Kaiyo Maru No.5, Japanese research vessel.
Sea Devils are a very active seismic region. Constant moving ocean floor. Volcanic islands appear and disappear regularly. This region is also known to be very active siklonnya activity.
4. Cape of Good Hope
The area is also known as the Cape of Storms. Sinking large ships within a period of hundreds of years. Most of the ships were destroyed because of bad weather, especially the deadly waves, or 'cape roller'. Scientists call it solitary wave - the height can reach 30 meters, in truth composed of two waves merge into one.
Giant waves it creates a large cavity, whose height is only slightly lower than the wave.Although this wave phenomenon could occur in other seas, but the Cape of Good Hope area in the most danger.
5. Eastern Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf
This area is well known phenomenon that is very impressive and mysterious: a giant circle of light swirling on the surface of the water.
German oceanographers, Kurt Kahle believes, that phenomenon is the result of the earthquake under the sea, causing plankton luminescence. Then arose the movement such as rotation of the wheel. However, this hypothesis is drawn criticism lately because it has not been able to explain the transformation secaralogis halos. Modern science also has not been able to explain the object form a perfect circle. Therefore, a new theory emerged which is more absurd: UFO.
6. Whirlpool (Maelstrom)
Although not too impressive as a whirlpool in the Sargasso Sea. But the sailors know about the amazing phenomenon of the vortex of this type. Whirlpool comes two times a day, in the northwestern part of the Norwegian Sea The word 'Maelstrom' was popularized by Edgar Alan Poe. Maelstrom is the water that spins a strong and large.Surface water from the vortex lebihrendah tens of meters from the sea. Its strength tens times the usual flow.
The strange, swirling turns in the opposite direction every three to four months. It could happen anywhere, including the Bermuda Triangle. Believed, the vortex rotates counter-clockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern parts of the earth.(Adi)

Water Coming From Where on Earth?

The origins of our planet's water, which covers up to 70 percent of Earth's surface remains a mystery for scientists. Many argue that water does not occur concurrently with the formation of Earth, but an object from space that drove him to our planet.
It is estimated that, if the water comes together with the formation of planet Earth at 4.5 billion years ago, he most likely has evaporated due to the heat of the sun when it was young. That is, the water probably came from somewhere else.
The planets in (Mercury, Venus, Mars) as well as a new solar system began to be formed, it is still too hot to hold water. Thus, the possibility of water on Earth is not coming from there. However, planets and other celestial bodies like Jupiter's moons, comets, and others quite far from the Sun to allow it to have ice.
During the period of prominence 4 billion years ago, called the Late Heavy bombardment period, a giant object, possibly coming from outside the solar system, showering the Earth and planets in the other. It is possible that these objects filled with water. Earth collision with objects is what makes our planet is filled with water.
So, what objects which deliver water?
For some time, astronomers estimate that the comet, made of ice and rock that has vaporized ice in the tail is long and continuous around the Sun, is thought to be the culprit.
However, measurement of distance to the water that evaporates from a few large comets that exist today such as comet Halley, Hyakutake and Hale-Bopp revealed that the ice that was there made of a different type of H2O because they contain hydrogen isotopes heavier than ice normally found on Earth.
That is, comets are not the source of water for the Earth.
Dicoretnya large comets from the list of suspect water sources, astronomers back looking for clues whether the water on earth come from the asteroid belt.
The area is comprised of hundreds of thousands of asteroids that orbit the Sun between the planets and outer planets previously believed to be too close to the Sun to save water. But the latest evidence, it is known that there is ice in the asteroid 24 Themis was there.
These findings, and ice in other asteroids indicate that there may be more ice in the asteroid belt than previous estimates. This is likely to be a source of water coming on Earth.
Currently, as quoted from Life's Little Mysteries, July 14, 2011, satellite monitors such as NASA's Dawn was sent to explore an asteroid. The hope, in the next few years, we will know more about the mysterious water ice that could potentially help us understand how the origin of water on Earth.

BMW M3 DTM Concept Car (2011)

This is BMW’s M3 DTM Concept Car, a taster of the near-500bhp racer that will compete in the 2012 DTM (German Touring Car) series. Unveiled at BMW Welt in Munich, it signals BMW's return to the DTM after a two-decade absence; between 1987 and 1992, the BMW M3 won 40 races and had over 150 podium finishes in Germany's premier tin-top series.

Does this new BMW M3 DTM car bear any resemblance to a road-going M3?

Not really, although the new 2012 DTM regulations demand that all cars must use a certain number of standard parts – it’s one of the reasons BMW has re-entered the series. The M3 DTM concept features a carbonfibre-reinforced plastic monocoque (CFRP) with a steel roll cage, a six-speed sequential gearbox, and as per DTM regulations, a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre V8. With air restrictors in place, the eight-cylinder engine produces around 480bhp, and BMW reckons its new M3 racer will hit 62mph in around three seconds and top 186mph.
BMW Motorsport also claims it has been able to ‘call upon the immense technical resources of the BMW Group and apply their innovation to establish performance advantages over their rivals in areas such as engine and aerodynamics’. Massive rear wing notwithstanding, the DTM-spec M3 is 160mm longer than the road car (at 4775mm), those ridiculously blistered wheelarches up the width from 1804mm to 1950mm, and depending on the ride height set-up at each circuit, it’s a mere 1200mm tall (1424mm for the street legal car).
Don’t get too used to the style of this M3 though: the racer only rolled out onto the track for the first time two weeks ago so the team reckons the looks will change significantly between now and the start of the 2012 season.

Anything else?

Besides unveiling the car, BMW also confirmed a few more details of its DTM project. We already know that three teams will race M3s in next year’s DTM series: BMW Team Schnitzer, BMW Team RBM and BMW Team RMG. And now Brit and ex-WTCC champion Andy Priaulx, along with fellow BMW M3 GT driver Augusto Farfus, have been revealed as the first two drivers.
‘It is good to see how our DTM project is picking up speed,’ said BMW’s director of development Dr Klaus Draeger. ‘Next yea, BMW returns to the DTM after two decades. We will be facing our main competitors in the premium sector – and are already looking forward to this challenge.’
‘Getting a new racing programme up and running is a bit like doing a jigsaw,’ added new BMW Motorsport director Jens Marquardt. ‘New pieces are added almost every day, and we must put them together to create the big picture. The BMW M3 DTM Concept Car is an important milestone on our route to the start of the 2012 season. The rollout of the car was successful, and we are now starting our test programme out on the track. The pieces are fitting together perfectly, so we can definitely say: our preparations for the 2012 season are going according to plan.’

Porsche 911 Turbo (2013 spy shots

After years of looking at prototypes of the new 991-generation Porsche 911 with Turbo-style stickers plastered over its flanks, the real thing has finally broken cover. Read on for the full story on the new Porsche 911 Turbo.

Ah, I see this Porsche 911 has proper air intakes and a properly big wing…

Indeed it does. Those side intakes feed air to the hungry twin-turbocharged engine, and the big bi-plane rear wing will pop up to provide additional stability at high speeds. (Traditionally, the Turbo’s rear wing only tends to rise into place at speeds that are illegal in the UK, giving Plod the perfect telltale sign that you’re above the national limit).
All 991 911s will sport a longer wheelbase, and the extra length is perhaps most obvious on the Turbo, with the intakes and rear wing helping to expose the new car’s true proportions.

And the famous forced-induction engine?

Unbelievably, the latest 911 Turbo received the first entirely new engine in the famed model’s 35-year history, so don’t expect anything new between the back axles. The twin-turbo 3800cc flat six already features direct fuel injection, and together with the GT2’s expansion intake manifold, and diesel-style variable turbine geometry turbos (to up the engine’s outputs but cut its consumption and emissions) the current Turbo is around 17% cleaner and greener than its predecessor.
However, with stop/start tech, aluminium body parts and electro-mechanical steering, the next Turbo should drop down from the 268g/km of today’s PDK-equipped car to below 250g/km CO2.
As for the power outputs, reckon on the new Turbo having the same 523bhp as the current Turbo S (up from 493bhp); once again there should be a Turbo S version too, with nearly 550bhp. As previously reported, the new 911 will come with both a seven-speed PDK ‘box and a seven-speed manual transmission, and it’ll be the former you’ll want to pick to achieve a McLaren matching-3.3 second 0-62mph time.

And presumably all that turbocharged torque needs a four-wheel drive system to keep in check?

Indeed it does, and beneath the wider bodywork of the Turbo hides an updated four-wheel drive set-up, plus revised MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear tuned for both more compliance and more grip. Active engine mounts will also improve cornering and straight-line comfort.
20-inch wheels will be standard, and all manner of acronyms will be available to keep you on the road, including Porsche Traction Management (PTM), Porsche Stability Management (PSM), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV).
Reckon on paying £110k for a 911 Turbo when UK sales start sometime in 2013.

Peugeot 508 RXH (2011)

Peugeot isn’t going to replace the 607, its big French attempt at taking on the hegemony of Audi, BMW and Mercedes. Instead the plan is to offer its Mondeo-sized 508 in posh, premium specs, and to tempt buyers with this, the 508 RXH.

And the Peugeot 508 RXH is…?

A 508 SW dressed in Audi Allroad attire. Raised suspension means it rides higher than the SW estate, and the black body cladding means it’s wider too. And there are LED lights in a ‘lions claw’ motif in the front bumper.
Peugeot promises a unique interior, with special colours and materials, and there’s loads of standard kit to reflect the expected £30k-plus price tag: sat-nav, electric front seats, keyless entry and go, a head-up display, a panoramic glass roof and 18in wheels are standard.

A range-toppe,r huh? So I’m guessing there’s a nice big 3.0-litre V6 diesel under that bonnet…

There’s not, but the sole powertrain available is the clever bit, utilising the same Hybrid4 diesel-electric set-up that’s already debuted in the 3008. A 163bhp 2.0-litre diesel drives the front wheels, and a 37bhp electric motor powers the back axle. And the latter’s modular configuration means Peugeot can bolt it into any car from the 308 upwards – and sister brand Citroen can do exactly the same.
All in the system makes 200bhp and 332lb ft, and while the motor spends much of its time assisting the HDI engine, it’s also able to run the RXH in 100% EV mode. That means rear-wheel drive, but also some impressive official figures: 67.2mpg and 109g/km CO2. Blame the big wheels and bigger body for the RXH’s inability to match the 74.4mpg and 99g/km CO2 recorded by the identically powered 3008 Hybrid 4.
The Peugeot 508 RXH will make its official world debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September 2011, and UK sales will follow in spring 2012.
